About Jagesh Jikar Sangeet Visharad | Music Expert | Music Tutor | Performer | Composer
Coming from a musical household, my journey with music started very early on. What started as singing sessions with my father soon turned into a passion that I would pursue for the rest of my life.
Turning my passion into my profession, I began to learn and teach music professionally. While all forms of music fascinate me, Indian Classical Music particularly interested me, and I completed my Sangeet Visharad from Bruhad Gujarat Sangeet Samiti, Ahmedabad & Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Miraj in 2001.
The stage has been my greatest friend and motivator since the beginning of my musical journey. I deeply enjoy performing sugam sangeet, Sufi music, thumris, ghazals, covers, Gujarati and Rajasthani folk music and have regularly performed shows for a variety of corporate clients and occasions.
I have also been on the judging panel for 15 inter-college youth fest music events for reputed institutes like Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gujarat Technological University, H.L. College of Commerce, and many more in Gujarat.
I have now been teaching vocal and instrumental music for over 30 years to students in India and abroad, alike. Being a trained musician with an ear for melodies, I have composed and arranged music for a variety of clientele’, be it documentary makers or television productions and shows. One of the compositions that is particularly close to my heart is the one made for a documentary “ Patan na Patola” filmed by Mr. Paresh Mehta.
As a music expert, I have been instrumental in arranging music and training students and professionals from over 20 organizations for youth festivals and professional performances alike. I have also held teaching positions in several schools and universities over the years. Watching my students perform with perfection and win accolades on stage fills me with immense pride and satisfaction !
